From his beginnings at Chassieu Tennis to the All In Academy, including his first victory in P1000, Jérémy, a young player in full development and member of the French Junior U16 team, looks back on his career, his recent victories, and his ambitions for the future.

I quickly understood that it was a sport for me

“I discovered the padel in my tennis club, Chassieu Tennis, where I started playing tennis at the age of 4. After a complicated 2020, marked in particular by Covid, I needed something new and entertaining. In 2021, I hit my first balls with my tennis buddies: Martin, Tom and Thomas (Thomas Basso now ranked 72nd). I quickly understood that this sport was made for me: I rediscovered the pleasure of hitting a ball with more creativity, more fun, more conviviality and more sharing. For two seasons, I tried to combine tennis and padel.

Three events reinforced my attraction to the padel : in 2022 my selection in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes team to participate in the French inter-league youth championships, followed by my selection in the French team to participate in the European junior championships and finally at the beginning of 2023 my meeting with Johan Bergeron. It's been a season since I only played at padel, with always the same desire and the same pleasure.”

An essential progression at the All In Academy

“Where I have progressed the most is certainly at the All In Academy where I have been training since its opening in September 2023. I was lucky enough to be able to access the training sessions led by Johan Bergeron and Jessica Ginier. I trained three times a week with the members of the academy (one physical training session and two group sessions). padel), no more, my school schedule does not allow me to. Fortunately, I was able to complete this training schedule with individual sessions with Johan and with internships during the holidays. The many tournaments I have participated in certainly also have a lot to do with my progress.

But I would also like to highlight my first two years of training at Chassieu Tennis with Michael Gonguet, a great coach who developed my taste for padel and taught me the basics, and more.”

A first victory in P1000 at Palavas

“What a satisfaction to win my first P1000. In addition, with a youngster of my age, or almost, we are from the same year, but Olivier is not yet 16 years old, which makes him the youngest player to have won a P1000. We played well throughout the tournament, from the first match we got on well on the field with a perfect complementarity.

Benjamin and Ludovic are very strong, but after my victory with Louis Jover over Benjamin Grue associated with Pierre Vincent at the P1000 in Sète, I knew that we could beat them. We immediately put in a lot of intensity with very little waste at the start of the game, which explains the somewhat harsh score of the first set despite several games played. The second set was more complicated, Benjamin and Ludovic managed to find both defensive and offensive solutions, achieving the break on our first service game. We didn't give up and despite a few more errors than in the first set, we managed to break, then break at the end of the set to win on a much closer score.”

The future of the Duo with Olivier Guy de Chamisso

“This is our second tournament together, the first was in January, and we went all the way with a perfect understanding on the field. Olivier, Guy for short, impressed me, while letting me express my game. Playing with him again is like a no-brainer. The next time could be at the European Junior Championships which start next Monday, if the captains decide to have us play together.

Otherwise, we have two tournaments scheduled before the end of the year, a P1000 and a P1500 in November. I hope there will be more. I don't feel the need to have an official partner for the moment. I enjoy playing with my friends.”

A season full of success

“Above all, I love the game, the beautiful game, but winning great victories is an additional satisfaction to share with my partners and a source of motivation to continue training. I had a good season that ended in an incredible way with three friends from the French junior team: victory at the U18 Masters with Thomas Basso, U16 French champions with Basile Baud and first victory in P1000 with Olivier Guy de Chamisso. I have filled up on confidence before the European junior championships!”

Progress, have fun and reach the top 30

“Concerning my goals, I aim to always have fun on the field with my friends, increase my training volume to continue to progress and move up the rankings. In the short term, I would like to get into the French top 30 and stay in the sights of the French junior team. In the longer term? I don't want to project myself. We'll see...”
