Jérôme Ferrandez is one of the top French players of padel , still in the race to be part of the last qualifying place for the World Championships of padel with his partner Jérémy Ritz. Focus on a “warrior” very popular on the circuit…

  • You are almost already an elder, right?

Hm ... Yes and no, even if it's been 4 years, that I play padel.

I discover the padel in Spain. Back in Aix-en-Provence, I embark on the padel at the Set Club (editor's note. Club unfortunately closed today, but which was one of the breeding grounds for padel French before closing).

I enjoyed myself there. Quite quickly I wanted to compete. Playing tennis (ex-15) has done me a favor ... Even though volleyballs have never been my forte ... But I tear myself away, that's the main thing!

  • Le padel evolves very quickly since your beginnings.
From the shadow to the light. In 4 years, the padel exploded in France. It is even a global phenomenon. When we travel, people get to know the sport. The French go to Spain, others return from Spain. And inevitably in the luggage, there are more and more padel.
  • Team France, in your sights?

Yes ! And I hope it will pass! The competition is getting harder and harder, but you can say that I fight every day by training every year to try to compete with the best French. It's hard but that's what I like ... the challenges.

  • What is your program ?

I train in general at noon and in the evening I'm doing a physics session.

Sometimes I do a double training when there is a good part to do.

On weekends, go to the tournaments padel or training with my partner Jérémy in Nice at Queco in Sophia.

  • Favorite positions? And the ones you do not like?
I like to make a "blanquette" (Coup particularly appreciated by Bastien Blanqué, no 1 French), ie, counter-smasher by the door and put a "latte" on the fly of forehand lifter. 🙂

What I like least: Receive slats 😉

  • Excluded Padel Mag, are you changing partners?
Hm, not at all !!! Jajaja. I will play with the great Jérémy Ritz!
  • Your blow of mouth

Red card tournament organizers who give less to the winners and finalists for supposedly give more to the quarter-finalists ... While it is still not done.

All gains are not systematically redistributed.

Respect the players who spend a fortune to be present in the tournaments.

  • A funny story ?

What no one knows: the future champions of France will be Jérémy Titz and me ahaha…

What is the rating ?! 😉
