It's about a  seventh victory in P2000  for Jessica Ginier and a  third for Lucile Pothier The two players look back on their success in Lyon, their feelings about the match and their prospects for the rest of the season.

A home victory for Ginier and Pothier

 The start of the match was a bit complicated with a break conceded, but then you rolled out a 10-1 inflicted on your opponents.  

Jessica Ginier: “I think we had a moment where we managed to show our intensity, and that's when we're the best. The start of the match was average, the end too for me, I don't know why, maybe a moment of hesitation. But otherwise, it's great to win at home, even more so for Lucile who plays here.”

Lucile Pothier: “It’s true that I was a bit apprehensive about this match, all my friends were there, my partner too, and I was afraid of feeling the pressure. Finally, after a good start from our opponents, we found our rhythm and our tactics. Very happy to win here, it’s a great victory.”

A growing list of achievements

 Jessica, do you know how many P2000 wins you have now? 

“7 wins in 10 finals.”

 Lucile, and you? 

“3 in 5 finals! That’s not bad, I’m positive.” (editor’s note: Fiona (Ligi) won 3 out of 10, and Louise (Bahurel) lost her three finals.)

What's next?

 What are your next tournaments? 

Lucile Pothier: “In March, there is not much. Maybe a FIP tournament with Louise, but nothing confirmed yet.”

Jessica Ginier: “It’s a bit unclear with the ranking Premier Padel. I was hoping to be able to do the Grand Slams (editor's note: the Majors), especially Doha in April, but I'm not even sure I'll get in. At 115 in the ranking, it's complicated. Even for Carla (Touly), who is around 80th place, it's hard. It's a shame, but that's how it is.”

A physical condition under control

 Jessica, is your knee okay? 

“Yes, I'm fine. I was scared this morning when I watched the video, you can clearly see that my knee almost turned. I felt pain at 4/10 at first, but nothing serious. I had a fractured tibia when I was younger, so my knee is more fragile. But today, it held up.”
