The  Mediterranean Games of Taranto  are entering their final stretch. After several days of competition, the brackets have tightened considerably and, on the French side, there are now only a few remaining.  only one pair still in the running: Dylan Guichard and Louise Bahurel in the mixed doubles .

Guichard / Bahurel, France's last chance

Top seed in the mixed draw,  Dylan Guichard and Louise Bahurel have perfectly maintained their position so far Having received a bye in the first round, the French dominated the Slovenians in the quarter-finals.  Simon Javoršek / Tina Lah , 6/1 6/4.

They will therefore play against the Italians this Thursday for a place in the final.  Marco Cassetta / Giulia Dal Pozzo , seeded 2. They were particularly quick in the quarter with a 6/0 6/0 victory.

The meeting is scheduled  from 10am on track 2 .

Mediterranean Games 2026: Where to watch padel live?

On paper, it's a real test: Cassetta/Dal Pozzo were the second-ranked pair in the draw going into the competition, behind the Portuguese.  Pedro and Sofia Araújo , while Guichard / Bahurel occupied the third position.

The French have reached the end of their run in the men's and women's draws.

However,  There will be no French players in the semi-finals of the men's and women's draws. .

However, in the men's competition, both French pairs had reached the quarter-finals.  Bastien Blanqué / Dylan Guichard The fifth-seeded team lost 6-4, 6-4 against the Italians.  Marco Cassetta / Simone Iacovino , While  Yoan Boronad / Timéo Fonteny , seeded 8th, lost by the same score against the Portuguese  Nuno and Miguel Deus .

In the ladies,  Louise Bahurel / Lucile Pothier  also saw their run end in the quarterfinals, beaten 6-1, 6-4 by the Italians  Giorgia Marchetti / Carolina Orsi .

A small surprise among the men

The main news from the men's draw is the elimination of the top two seeds before the semi-finals.

The top Spanish favorites  Guillermo Collado / Pol Hernández The number 1 seed is no longer in the semi-finals, while the number 2 seed  José Antonio Diestro / David Gala  is still present. The semi-finals will pit  Nuno / Miguel Deus (TS4) in Diestro / Gala (TS2)  et  Cassetta / Iacovino (TS6) to Abbate / Montiel (TS3) .

Among women, the hierarchy is much more respected since  The top four seeds have reached the semi-finals.  : Araújo / Nogueira, Llaguno / Sainz, Rodriguez / Velasco and Marchetti / Orsi.

Thursday's program

For France, the meeting is therefore very simple:  10 a.m., track 2, Dylan Guichard / Louise Bahurel facing Marco Cassetta / Giulia Dal Pozzo , with a place in the mixed final to be won.

The other semi-finals will follow on Centre Court: the Portuguese mixed doubles will also open at 10am, the women's semi-finals will begin  not before 17 p.m. Then the men will enter the arena  not before 19:30 p.m. .

 France therefore has only one more shot at these Mediterranean Games, but it can still leave Taranto with a medal thanks to Guichard and Bahurel.
