Johan Bergeron, the French champion of padel 2018, found (finally!) His partner to play the professional circuit of padel, World Padel Tour : Julio Sierra. Reassured and optimistic, our French are attacking the year 2019 with assumed objectives ... And why not, an adventure that could take him very far in France as in Spain.

Who will you play with?

I will play with Julio Sierra. He is a 19-year-old Spanish player ranked 127th in the World Padel Tour.

We had lost against him last year and He proposed to me at the end of the year to play with him but I refused because I played with Bastien, and I asked him mid January if he was interested to play with me this year and he said yes.

It's positive because now the partner issue is closed and now it's time for training with one goal: Give everything to be ready during the first WPT which will take place in Marbella on March 17th for a Master.

You in Barcelona, he in Madrid ... Is it possible?

We do not train together because he trains in Madrid, but we will organize to create training sessions together before a tournament.

We will make a point with him in 4 or 5 tournaments and see first if we continue the adventure together and we will then see the organization.

How does your training work in Barcelona?

Regarding my training program: It's deadly! And I am very motivated to attack this year.

Training padel 6 days a week and physical 7 days a week too. And an appointment with the physiotherapist once a week to treat all the small tensions that can be created. I trained with Gemma and Lucia last Sunday.

The training group is welded and especially very motivated to give the maximum of ourselves during this year.

Your goal with your partner?

My goal: To integrate the Top 100 WPT by the end of the year. I want to pass this course this year.

Your schedule in France and the WPT?

Concerning my calendar, the schedule of the WPT is out, we have: 6 Masters, 11 Open and Challengers.

I can't wait for the schedule. FFT Padel Tour to be able to finalize my 2019 calendar.

My first French tournament will be the P1000 at home, in Lyon the 16 / 17 February where I could not play with Bastien because he has a big animation with his brand during this weekend.

Will you play other P1000?

I will focus on the circuit of World Padel Tour. And it is very busy between the Masters, the Open and the Challenger.

Then there is the FFT Padel Tour. For now, we are waiting to hear more about the schedule.

For the P1000s, with the P2000s and the multiplication of the P1000s, I think the top 20 will not move as much as it did 2 years ago. It will probably be the only P1000 of the season for me in Lyon (Esprit Padel) next February.
