Jorge Martínezcoach of Chingotto and Galán, spoke in an interview with Twenty Ten, and his vision of padel is clear: It is not an individual sport played by two people., but a good one real team sport.

"I don't like this individualistic way of designing a pairWhat interests me is the logic ofteam. And a team complements each other. There are days when one shines more than the other, but what matters is that thegear works. "

A statement that contrasts with the perception of some players on the circuit, who tend to consider padel as an individual sport practiced by two people. Jorge, for his part, recalls that each performance is the fruit of a joint work, sometimes invisible.

"There are tasks that cannot be seen : returning well, serving well, connecting with another neutral ball… All these little things allow your partner to express themselves more.”

The coach therefore refuses any isolated individual promotion. For him, the alchemy of a duo comes through complementarity, adaptation and respect for roles. An approach that seems to bear fruit with Chingotto and Galán, authors of three titles this season.

"I continue to insist: we must value the team before individuals. Padel is a team sport, whether you like it or not."

A simple, almost necessary reminder, at a time when partner changes are increasing and collective dynamics are sometimes relegated to the background.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
