Saint-Martin is preparing to experience an unprecedented weekend with the organization of the very first P1000 of its history. From May 14 to 16, 2026, the THAT'S SO JAVA Tournament will bring together several of the highest-ranked players in France, the best Caribbean teams… but also a personality who has become essential in the world of padel: José “The Best” .
Known at major international events for his energy around the courts and his almost cult-like role in the tournament atmosphere, José “The Best” will be among the guests at this first edition organized at the Friendly Padel Club.
A figure who has become popular on the padel circuit
In the world of padel, few figures are as recognizable as José “The Best”. Initially known as a window cleaner at major international events, he gradually became a true icon of the circuit thanks to his close relationships with the players, his constant energy and his flair for the dramatic.
Over the years, his presence has become familiar at many professional tournaments, to the point of being regularly requested at events combining sport and entertainment.
His arrival in Saint-Martin fits perfectly with the identity that THAT'S SO JAVA P1000 wants to build: a serious tournament in terms of sport, but also capable of offering a real experience around padel.
A historic first P1000 for Saint-Martin
With this P1000 approved tournament, Saint-Martin takes an important step in the development of padel in the Caribbean.
Following the success of last year's P500, the Friendly Padel This time, the club will host several top French players:
- Maxime Moreau
- Pierre Perez Le Tiec
- Morgan Mannarino
- Raphael Rubio
- Baptiste Fabre
- Gauthier Boutel
Teams from Guadeloupe, Martinique and other Caribbean territories will also participate in this edition, which promises to be one of the biggest padel events ever organized on the island.
Between competition, celebration and Caribbean atmosphere
The organizers clearly want to go beyond the purely sporting aspect. The stated objective is to create an event that reflects the image of Saint-Martin: friendly, festive, and focused on sharing.
The tournament will begin on Tuesday with an Opening Party organized at Java in Grand Case, including:
- Official player presentation
- live draw
- sunset atmosphere
- live music
The weekend will conclude with the finals on Saturday evening followed by a closing party hosted by Feder , also involved in the tournament as a player.
International visibility for the event
The tournament will also benefit from a live broadcast provided by Padel Magazineallowing fans to follow the matches from the metropolis and several French-speaking countries.
The organizers hope to make this first edition a lasting event on the Caribbean padel calendar, with an identity blending high-level sport , local entertainment and lifestyle.
