Franco Stupaczuk and Miguel Yanguas (seeded No. 4) caused a surprise in the semi-finals of Kuwait Premier Padel P1 by eliminating Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galán (n°2). With a controlled victory 6/3 6/1, they put an end to an impressive series of 14 consecutive finals for their opponents. From the first exchanges, Stupaczuk and Yanguas took the advantage with an early break, maintaining their dominance without conceding a single break point.
This performance gives them a place in the final against the world No. 1s, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia. The latter continued their exceptional season by beating Jairo Bautista and Fran Guerrero (seeded No. 17) by a score of 6/2 6/2. Coello and Tapia will aim for a 12th title in 2024, confirming their status as undisputed leaders.
In the women's draw, the world's top two pairs qualified for a highly anticipated final. Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez (No. 1) got the better of Marta Ortega and Sofia Araújo (No. 4) in two sets 7/6 6/1. After a tight first set, won in a tie-break, the No. 1s rolled out the second set, winning six consecutive games.
For their part, Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernández (n°2) dominated Delfi Brea and Bea González (n°3) with a resounding 6/0 6/2 victory. This success marks their return to the final after several weeks of absence at this level.
