Game quality can be greatly impacted by external factors such as weather conditions or the material used. It is in this context that Fran Guerrero speaks about this in an interview given to I reveal, where he deplores the sometimes difficult climatic conditions in certain tournaments as well as the use of different balls in each competition.
High temperatures, indoors are needed….
One of the main concerns that Guerrero raised was the extreme temperatures. "Premier Padel should give promoters a series of guidelines to follow. For example, if temperatures are too high, matches should be played indoors.”
A homogenization of the balls
Another point Guerrero raises concerns the balls used in different tournaments. “Balls should be the same for the majority of tournaments.” Currently, each competition can opt for different brands or types of balls, which creates disparities in bounce, speed or feel of the game. A standardization would allow players to adapt more easily and evolve in standardized conditions throughout the season.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
