In an explosive context between professional players of padel and World Padel Tour, Juan Lebron, the partner of the President of the Professional Association of Padel (PPA), came out of his reserve to attack frontally the World Padel Tour.
In question: the behavior of the public and in particular of the friends of one of their particularly turbulent opponents. Juan Lebron and Ale Galan were surprised in 8th against Garrido / Campagnolo.
This defeat in 3 sets is certainly difficult to pass. But more than this defeat, it is the behavior of World Padel Tour which seems "do not pass” obviously with some players.
The Spaniard's remarks are particularly harsh towards the World Padel Tour, since Juan Lebron questions the politics of the professional circuit “since a while“, thus adding to the complaints of the PPA and the International Federation of Padel before the European Commission.
I don't know how far they want to go with all this (the WPT), but if they continue to disrespect us in this way and they don't stop, it means they don't want to take care of their own players, which they have been for some time.
(…) Because if the WPT does not take action, we will have to take it and I repeat, the WPT does not take care of the players as they deserve.(…) it's something brutal what we experience as PROFESSIONAL players.
According to them, the World Padel Tour, by its breaches, would no longer fulfill its obligations of means towards the players, which could have the consequence of unilaterally breaking the contract binding the two parties.
Ale Galan, Lebron's partner, had already lit the fuse by explaining that the behavior of the World Padel Tour could him"cause serious and irreparable harm".
We can clearly see the objective of the players. Will it be enough to break free from World Padel Tour before the end of 2023? We are not there yet...
