During tournament semi-finals Premier Padel Asunción P2, a sequence captured on the bench between Juan Lebrón et Franco Stupaczuk quickly set social media alight. Visibly frustrated by the way the match played out against Augsburger and Cardona, the Andalusian player did not mince his words with his partner. A scene translated and relayed by our colleagues from Brand et Twenty Ten, which reveals an unusual tension within the duo.

“I don’t see you wanting to win.”

During a change of ends, Lebrón, annoyed, says to Stupa:

“I don't see you wanting to win this match. You're stuck. I have to cross the field to finish the points. Come on, you're Franco Stupaczuk, run!”

A shocking sentence, tinged with annoyance, which illustrates well the state of nervousness of the Spanish player in the face of the difficulties encountered in this match. This virulent exit was quickly picked up and commented on throughout the padel world, illustrating a moment of palpable tension between the two teammates.

Pozzoni reacts with humor...

But rather than fueling the controversy, Carlos Pozzoni, the pair's coach, chose humor to calm things down. Back to Buenos Aires, where the team is preparing for the next tournament, he shared a video on his social networks in which we see Stupaczuk, Alex Ruiz and Alex Gallardo (member of Lebrón's staff) seated at a table... while Lebrón, himself, is isolated, sitting alone at another table.

The Argentinian coach's comment?

“Juancito is punished”, in the sense that he is in the corner, he must think, an ironic way of reminding that tensions exist, but that the group remains united and focused on the rest of the season.

Through this sequence, Pozzoni sends a double signal: defuse the controversy while subtly reframing his playerWe love it!
