Unexpected results after injury
After several months of stopping due to knee pain, Julien achieved a great victory in Malaysia with Albert Trillas, before a semi-final in Egypt with Thomas Vanbauce and a good match against players in the world's top 30.
"I'm surprised myself. I trained very little, I lacked rhythm. But on the pitch, I got stronger as the matches went on."
Although he no longer feels pain in his knee, Julien admits that he is not yet at his best:
"I had a stiff neck, my abs hurt... Physically, I'm far from 100%. But the results are there. I know I now have to train seriously to make it last."
A first collaboration with a Spaniard
His association with Albert Trillas, a 19-year-old Spanish player, has marked an important milestone:
"It was a real desire. He didn't know me, I was free on the field. No preconceived notions, no pressure."
Their understanding, both on and off the field, was immediate. simple relationship, without long-term projection, but mentally beneficial.
"He wants to try out several partners. I want to continue exploring this avenue; I'm going to play again with another Spaniard in two weeks."
Uncertainties… but also opportunities
The wound of Thomas Vanbauce, with whom Julien was planning a series of tournaments, complicated the planning:
"We were supposed to play together on the FIP Tour a bit. Today, I'm still looking for a partner for the next tournaments."
He will play with it soon Adrian Rodriguez, a player he appreciates:
"He beat me twice last year, so I think he's obviously good. He's a serious guy, I can't wait to see what happens."

Objective: French Championships with Maxime Joris
Julien will compete in the French Championships 2025 with Maxime Joris :
"Max will play on the left for this occasion. We want to be competitive, we've already trained in Madrid, and we plan to play one or two tournaments together to get our game on track."
With two semi-finals already under his belt, Julien aims for at least a place in the last four, or even a final.
Changes on the racket side
Julien recently traded his Bullpadel Vertex for XPLO, a decision taken after several tests in real conditions:
"The XPLO is very maneuverable. In matches, I felt that the Vertex let me down a little in key moments. The XPLO gives me more control, especially from the baseline."
A racket that seems to suit him perfectly, especially in the offensive phase:
"I feel very good on the fly with it. So far, I'm very happy with this choice."
