We come across him in Narbonne, Shanghai, Greece or Morocco. For two years, Kamel Mouimen traces its route on the circuit FIP , with seriousness, smile and strategy. At the same time Moroccan player engaged in the development of padel in Morocco and competitor on the international circuit, he takes an atypical path, between retraining, pleasure of playing, and modest but affirmed ambition: to progress, to have fun, and why not reach the Top 300 worldwide .
Le Moroccan Hanouna padel…
I discovered the paddle there is about two years . At first, it was just for fun. Then I realized that there was a playing card in a new competition. I started doing tournaments in Morocco , and through them, I met French players et Spanish who invited me to come to France . From there, I discovered an excellent level, many players from the french top 100 , and thanks to them, I got a foothold in the international .
I took the plunge. I had nothing to lose. It's pleasure above all . This is how I got into the competition .
There is a very good level in Morocco . Many players Spanish et French come to play there. And a lot of tennis players are converting to padel. But not only that. There are also footballers , athletes from other disciplines, who discover padel and get into it seriously.
In the housing estates more and more padel
En France , I was in the telecoms , and at Morocco , I started in the real estate . And what is interesting is that in the subdivisions , we begin to integrate padel tracks . It's trendy. Even in the hotels . And some clubs are emerging from the ground Marrakech , Casablanca , Agadir , Tanger …There are even events planned with world top players .
To progress quickly, you have to play with better players.
By nature , I am a competitor . Before, I was footballer . But at a certain age, you can no longer play at a high level. With padel, I realized that I still had a margin , that I could play at a good level, including in international . And it remains fun I meet people, I move, I stay in shape.
To progress quickly, you have to play harder. And then to enter the FIP tables , we need points , so a well-ranked teammate is also a strategy. That's how we progress.
Especially when you take 75% of the bullets. It's physically and mentally difficult . But you get used to it. You have to to be solid , practice , have a healthy lifestyle . And above all, keep in mind that it's still fun .
I train like a pro
Yes, I will in Spain regularly. I train like a pro, even though it's not my full-time job. I do the Pigmentation . And I pay attention to everything: food, recovery , all of this matters, especially at my age , where the body does not forgive like at 20 years old.
We are thinking about strategy for the points
En Europe , the level is very high. So sometimes we go to Asia or in other countries where paintings are more accessible. This is where we can take points , then return to Europe with a better ranking .
I aim for the Top 300 worldwide . By Julien Biron , we're going to resume tournaments together. We'll start training in Spain in September. I think we can achieve it. And Julien can go even further. He has the potential , seriousness, everything you need.
The FIP point is expensive!
It is fun . I'm not trying to be profitable. But there is a logic: we say that a point costs 100 € Tickets, hotels, snowshoes, all of this is expensive. But as long as I can afford it , I continue. We only have one life.
Franck Binisti discovered padel at the Club des Pyramides in 2009 in the Paris region. Since then, padel has been part of his life. You often see him touring France to cover major French padel events.
