Tournament Premier Padel Kuwait City P1 confirmed the dominance of two major pairs in 2024. Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez have secured their place as world number 1, whileArturo Coello and Agustin Tapia continue their incredible winning streak.

Josemaria and Sanchez: world number 1 confirmed

With a ninth title this season, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez sealed their first place in the world rankings for 2024. They beat Gemma Triay et Claudia fernandez in the final, with a score of 7-5 7-6 after 2h12 of an intense match.

Despite a knee problem, Josemaria praised the support of the medical staff and her partner: "I'm really happy to be by your side, Ari." This title is also their 36th set, an impressive record. Sanchez added: “What we are living is a dream. Thanks to Paula, who gave her all despite the difficulties.”

The match was marked by twists and turns: a break at 5-4 in the first set, followed by a counterbreak, before Josemaria and Sanchez concluded at 6-5. In the second set, they overturned a deficit of 2 - 5 to win the tie-break, 7 - 1.

Coello and Tapia: a historical series

At men's, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia have won their 12th title of the year, bringing their series to 35 consecutive wins. They dominated the final against Franco Stupaczuk et mike yanguas with a score of 6-4 6-2 in 1h19.

A decisive break at 4-4 in the first set allowed them to take the lead. In the second, they turned the situation around after being led 2 - 1, chaining five games in a row.

Coello highlighted their consistency: "We are very happy, but we want to continue in this vein." Tapia praised his teammate: "Arturo makes everything easier on the pitch."
