November is still here a pivotal moment of the year: tournaments come one after the other, the race for the Masters is in full swing and rivalries are more present than ever. It is also in November that the wear and tear of the year is felt.
For several tournaments, this has been visible on the players' side: straps on the arm, knee, more frequent calls to the physio…the list goes on.
A unique circuit… but dense!
Every year, November is a tough month for players and the risk of injury is at its peak. Moreover, Alejandro galan et Paula Josemaria appeared at Kuwait P1 with a knee strap.
In this 2024 season, professional padel players have evolved on a unique circuit, Premier Padel, although some have committed to FIP Platinum or Gold (or even Rise for some). In this season, players were hoping for a less dense schedule and more rest time… But the reality is sometimes quite different.
Indeed, we have already talked about the FIP tournaments, where some players were present, but there were also the European Championships (even the qualifications for Portugal and Sofia Araujo), the World Championships at the beginning of November and all the rest... In the end, the players are far from having played in the 25 tournaments announced at the start of the year !
Beginning of injuries
With one month to go until the Master Final in Barcelona, we can already feel that our bodies are reaching the end of their strength. Professional players may be trained and prepared for this, but the body can give out… even in champions. We think of Ale Galan's knee, injured during the final of the Dubai P1. Or the pain in the same place of Paula Josemaria, which did not prevent him from winning the Kuwait P1 final alongside Ariana Sanchez.
Last year, the first “symptoms” appeared in October. A rain of injuries fell on the WPT Minorca Open where we could feel the fatigue of some players...
The number of tournaments having decreased, this has allowed players to be "fresh" for longer, until this famous month of November when we feel the general fatigue among professional players.
The end of the season is near, the curtain will fall on this year 2024. Of course, the players are tired, but they will have to give a little more of themselves if they want to be sure to compete in the Master Final!
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
