The global development of padel continues to accelerate and the  International Federation of Padel (FIP)  continues its expansion strategy into new territories. This time, Africa will be in the spotlight with the official announcement of the very first  FIP Promises Continental Finals Africa , organized from  December 18 to 20, 2026  au  Cape Town, South Africa .

A historic event for African padel and for the FIP youth circuit.

Cape Town will host the best young African talents

This first edition will take place within the Arturf Padel Arena considered the largest padel complex in South Africa.

This is a far from insignificant choice for the FIP, which wants to offer young African talents modern and professional infrastructure to support the development of padel on the continent.

 The best African pairs together

The competition will bring together the best young African players in four categories:

  •  U12 ,
  •  U14 ,
  •  U16 ,
  •  U18 .

Each category will be contested:

  • among boys,
  • and among girls.

To participate in these continental finals, players must be among the  eight best pairs in the African continental ranking .

A qualification reserved for the elite of the new African generation.

A format designed for the show

The FIP also unveiled the competition format.

The tournament will begin with:

  • a group phase,
  • divided into two groups.

The two best pairs from each group will then qualify for the semi-finals before the grand finals.

The objective is clear: to offer as many matches and as much exposure as possible to the young talents of the continent.

The FIP has also confirmed that the entire event will be broadcast live.

Luigi Carraro: “The symbol of the growth of padel in Africa”

The President of the FIP,  Luigi Carraro , welcomed this announcement with great enthusiasm.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
