According to FIP Research and Data Analysis Department , we only counted 163 professional players en 2020 , against nearly 2 players holders of a professional license today.
48 national competitions organized
In the United States, padel is governed by the United States Padel Association (USPA) , affiliated with the International Padel Federation (FIP) for 1994 .
According to 2023 Annual Report of the USPA, the country had:
- 227 padel courts
- Around 90 amateur players
- 1 licensed professional players (of which approximately 400 women )
- 39 affiliated clubs
These numbers have continued to grow in 2024 :
- Number of licensed players increased by 10% , reaching 1 917
- amateur players are now more than 100 000
- 48 national competitions were organized
The arrival of the Miami P1
Before Miami P1 , three FIP international tournaments had taken place in the United States:
- May 2021 , FIP Rise Houston (won by the Mexican duo Mujica-Amora )
