No summer break for padel: from  12 at August 16 , the  NESCO Center  de  Mumbai,   welcomes the  World Padel League  for its third edition, with a line-up of  36 players  among the best in the world.

An original team format

Six mixed franchises will compete:  Vernost Jaguars ,  Game Changers Lions ,  SG Pipers Cheetahs ,  Panthers Panorama ,  Khan Tigers  et  Vedanta Leopards The competition begins with a group stage, followed by a play-in system and semi-finals, before the grand final on Saturday.
Each match is played in  three sets  : two contested by male pairs and one by a female pair. Points are awarded according to the number of games won, making each round decisive.

A high-level cast

Among the participants, we find in particular  Alejandra Salazar ,  Sanyo Gutiérrez ,  Marta Ortega ,  Tamara Icardo ,  Coki Nieto ,  Claudia Fernández ,  Maxi Sánchez ,  Fran Guerrero  or,  Javi leal  the  Pipers Cheetahs , winners in 2025 with Bea González and Claudia Fernández, will defend their title against a tough field.
Note that  Sanyo Gutiérrez  et  Alejandra Salazar  already know what it's like to lift the trophy, having triumphed in the first edition in 2023.

The competition

The schedule includes two daily matches until Friday, play-in day, before the  semi-finals  and the  final  Saturday.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
