Just over a month before the start of the  Lotto Brussels Premier Padel P2 Held in the spectacular setting of the Gare Maritime, the organizers unveiled a major first surprise: the awarding of one of the two men's wild cards to  Miguel Lamperti  et  Isaac huysveld .

The Argentine veteran, who at 47 is playing his final season on the world circuit, will team up with the Belgian player to gain direct entry into the main draw. The pair are expected to be on the courts  Tuesday, April 21 , in a tournament that is once again expected to be very popular with the Belgian public.

One last tour for Lamperti

A key figure in the world of padel for over two decades, Miguel Lamperti continues to play with the same energy that built his reputation. A former world number 1 in the early 2000s and winner of more than a dozen titles on the professional circuit, the Argentinian remains one of the most popular players in padel.

Long known as the  "The George Clooney of padel" Lamperti captivated fans with both his charisma and his spectacular game, particularly his signature jump smash. Currently ranked 89th in the world, he is preparing to retire at the end of the 2025 season.

A particularly popular player in Brussels

The Belgian public has vivid memories of his visit two years ago. During the previous edition of the Brussels tournament, Lamperti electrified the center court in a memorable quarter-final against the world number ones.  Arturo Coello  et  Agustín Tapia .

In a hard-fought match, the Argentinian and his partner had even obtained  two match points , electrifying the entire arena before ultimately succumbing after an intense battle. A moment that largely contributed to making Lamperti one of the local crowd's favorites.

An opportunity for Isaac Huysveld

For  Isaac huysveld This invitation feels like an unexpected gift. The Belgian, who until now had been playing alongside the Frenchman  Nicolas Rouanet will have the opportunity to share the track with one of the great figures of this sport.

A valuable experience for the local player, who will benefit in Brussels from rare exposure alongside such an iconic figure. In an arena packed with Lamperti fans, the duo could well deliver one of the tournament's highlights.

One thing is certain: for what could be  one of Lamperti's last appearances in Brussels The atmosphere promises to be fantastic.
