Le Asia-Pacific Committee of the International Federation of padel met to launch the joint development of the padel in this region. Here is the press release from Gustavo Oriol “Gio”:

"On November 14th , a promising future of padel in Asia-Pacific has begun with 40 potential participants from 9 different countries such as Japan, Australia, China, India, Iran, South Korea, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand.

Right after an establishment of Asia Pacific Committee (APAC) a month ago, the first seminar, INFLUENCER PROJECT, is held through Zoom. The major purpose of this seminar was to build collaboration to promote padel across the region.

The seminar started with the warm welcome speech from Mr. Luigi Carraro, president of International Padel Federation (FIP). After him, Mr. Koji Nakatsuka as President of Asia-Pacific Regional Committee followed the session with supporting messages for all the members and their enthusiasm for padel development, with some ideas to encourage all the influencers to do their best for this sport.

The 1-hours seminar was hosted by Mr. Gustavo Oriol, secretary of APAC, with the collaboration of Mr. Queco Catalan, FIP Sports Chief Officer and Mrs. Huang Lanni, vice-president of APAC.

The 4 themes of the seminar were:

  1. Basic knowledge of Padel a. Speaker: Mr. Pere Valdivieso (APF) b. Duration: 30 min
  2. Definition of Influencer
  3. Case Study (Japan) e. Speaker: Mrs. Yukiko Suzuki (JPA) f. Duration: 15 min
  4. Questions and answers

The first topic explained the history of padel, rules and regulations of the sport, the material and dimensions of the courts, the different shapes of the racquets, the balls and the score.

The second part was a definition of what an INFLUENCER is and the activities to make to help to develop padel in their respective countries depending on their traditions and cultures.

During the third stage of the seminar, there was an example of how to develop the Padel Influencer Project, in this case, Japan showed their activities, promotions, SNS (social media), agreements with Spanish Embassy, etc.

The last part of the Seminar was time for QUESTIONS & ANSWERS; different points of views and interesting feedback from the speakers about how they work with their influencers in each country and possibilities for new strategies for 2021.

During the next weeks more seminars and conferences will be developed by this Asia-Pacific Regional Committee to collaborate to expand our padel to this part of the world where padel is still in the first steps.

After this first successful and effective seminar, there will be more to come. Padel communities are growing big and firm!
