More than five years later, padel is back  Dakhla  (Morocco), for the second edition of the Intercontinental Padel Cup. “The pearl of the Sahara” had been deprived of this discipline for many years, in particular because of Covid.

However, the wait has lasted long enough and padel is making a big comeback in Dakhla, with  a track set up especially for the event , right in the middle of a public square in the city. For three days, players  Spanish ,  Portuguese ,  Moroccan  et  French  will compete to try to lift the cup!

For several years, the city of Dakhla has been trying to create a padel club within its walls. Unfortunately, for the time being and despite the demand,  the wish of many has not yet been realized.  This exhibition competition will therefore also aim to promote padel, in a country where it already has its place, but in a region where it is sorely lacking.

The  two categories  will be represented during this Intercontinental Cup, with a men's draw and a men's draw.

Table Men Daklha

Through this competition,  Claude Baigts , president of the European Association of Football Clubs Padel private (AECP) and  Omar El Alaoui , president of Sahara Event and vice-president of the Dakhla tourist office, intend to prove that Dakhla can become the equal of Agadir or Marrakech, cities which already offer padel courses (which can also be found on Racket Trip).

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
