Approaching the Bullpadel Show, which will be held on June 20 and 21 at the Pinède in Juan-les-Pins, Laura Boulleau confided in Teo VieauThe former French international footballer speaks frankly about her commitment to this charity tournament, his growing connection with the paddle, but also its vision of the competition, which she continues to nourish with intensity… even off the football pitch.

A dedicated and ambitious captain

How do you take on this role of captain and how will you manage your players?
Laura Boulleau : I take it very seriously, firstly because there is two associations to support – Smile & Sharing et the Adrien Association – and then because I am a great competitorI will definitely give all my energy to win.

I'll leave the padel stars alone, but I'll still tell them that I want them to give their best. I think about Paquito Navarro, because he likes to put on a show… but I want him to understand that I really want us to win.

A passion born on the field… and on the networks

How did you discover padel?
I started playing because in the world of football, everyone is getting involved, including my partner. And thanks to social media, I thought, “Why not try it?” It’s already been 8 or 9 years. On progresses quickly in this sport, what makes it addictiveUnlike football, where it takes several years to reach a decent level, In padel, in a few months you can have fun and reach an average level.

A bad memory for Roland, but revenge to be taken

You played at Roland-Garros last year in an exhibition...
I have bad memories of it. I was on the Central, I didn't think there would be so many people. It gave me a enormous pressure and I completely missed my game. I mismanaged my emotions. Today, I am keen to do much better.

Her ideal partner? A little Argentinian named Chingotto

If you had to choose your dream partner?
Chingotto, without hesitation. Even if I let a bullet pass through my corner, he will go and get her. It's a bit like a guardian angel. I like Paquito Navarro a lot, but I think he's a bit lazy... so I choose Chingotto, without hesitation.

The competitor's DNA never leaves her

What aspects of football do you translate into padel?
A lot. Managing emotions, especially. Having evolved in a high-level environment helps me in key moments, when I have to remain clear-headed on decisive points. I think that I have a real advantage compared to those who have never practiced sport at a high level. And then there is the rage to win. When I say that I don't give up anything, it is not a formula: I really don't give up anything.

See you on June 20 and 21 in Juan-les-Pins to see Laure Boulleau at work, racket in hand, with her contagious passion and her desire to win intact.
