The many figures mentioned in thesurvey on the padel performed by Monitor Deloitte and Playtomic are very interesting to analyze. Today we are going to focus on the expansion and the future of the padel in Scandinavian countries.

In Sweden, Denmark, Finland, or Norway, the padel is experiencing considerable growth. Compared to other European countries, the Scandinavian countries are not yet the best served in terms of tracks or clubs. padel, but they are indeed those where growth is the strongest.

The center in Kungsbacka, Sweden, which hosted the APT Padel Tour in 2021

Indeed, in Sweden, from 2019 to 2021, the number of clubs padel increased by 320%. In Denmark by 400%, in Finland by 410% and in Norway by more than 540%! Regarding the tracks, once again, the percentage increases from 2019 to 2021 are impressive with 388% for Sweden, 581% for Finland, 380% for Denmark and 867% for Norway. By way of comparison, in France, over the same period, the number of clubs and tracks increased by 181 and 54% respectively.

This growth in the Scandinavian countries is obviously confirmed by the considerable investments made for this sport. Sweden is the country to have mobilized the most financially over the past two years for the padel : more than 80 million euros have been spent just on the creation of tracks (purchase and assembly of the field). At the same time, Finland paid around 16,5 million euros, Denmark almost 12 million euros and Norway 5,5 million euros.

At this rate, the Scandinavian countries will quickly catch up with their European counterparts in terms of infrastructure devoted to padel !
