After a relatively stable start to the season, the Brussels P2, the seventh tournament of the year, marks an important turning point on the circuit Premier PadelSeveral partner changes have been announced, and some could reshuffle the cards for the rest of the season.

Bautista and Guerrero's separation revives the market

The first shock comes from the separation of Jairus Baptist et Fran Guerrero, who confirmed their breakup after their elimination in the round of 16 in Brussels. On his social networks, Baptist thanked his former partner for “all the moments experienced and overcome together”, thus formalizing the end of a solid collaboration but without major results at the start of the season.

New alliances announced

As soon as their separation was announced, rumors began to swirl, and some information was quickly confirmed. Jairus Baptist will form according to speculation, now team with Eduardo Alonso, a player in full progression, semi-finalist of the Premier Finals 2024 in Barcelona with Momo González. In difficulty at the start of this year with Álex Arroyo, Alonso seeks to relaunch its dynamics, and the alliance with Baptist looks promising.

For its part, Fran Guerrero could find another young, dynamic player: Javi leal. In fact, Javi Leal and Sanyo Gutiérrez have also made their separation official.

This potential new duo is also attracting a lot of attention and could shake up some of the pairs already established on the circuit.

A domino effect that could continue

These changes could lead to further adjustments. Álex Arroyo et Sanyo Gutiérrez, left without partners, are at the center of all speculation. If current trends are to be believed, Álex Ruiz et Maxi Sánchez and Alex Chozas et Lucas Campagnolo, could also launch new joint projects.

However, in this uncertain context, a simple opportunity or a last-minute phone call could still turn things around.

Heading for P2 in Asunción

Le P2 of Asuncion, which will take place from 19 to 25 May 2025, will be the first tournament to test these new associations. The official list of registrants, which will be closed on Friday, May 2 at 17 p.m. (Spanish time), will definitely confirm the new pairs in formation.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
