Guest at  Twenty Ten ,  Sole Brea , the mother of  Delfi Brea , looked back on a memorable memory from her daughter's early days, long before she became one of the most feared players on the tour.

The anecdote goes back to a  exhibition event bringing together professional and amateur players , organized just before a tournament. Delfi, again  very young and far from the top level , had been associated for the occasion with  Franco Stupaczuk . In the stands, Sole watched the match alongside  Fernando Belasteguín .

“The first day someone told me my daughter was going to be number 1, it was none other than Bela,” Sole recalled. As the match progressed, the multiple world champion confided in him that his daughter had  “the will to win at all costs”  and possessed  “the blood of a number 1” A statement that, at the time, seemed almost unrealistic for a teenager. Sole admits to having thought the Argentine legend was exaggerating, not yet measuring Delfi's true potential.

Yet, this prediction would come true. Year after year,  Delfi Brea  confirmed this competitive temperament, this ability to  raise your level at key moments , and a regularity worthy of the greatest. In 2025, alongside  Gemma Triay , she not only won several major titles, but above all  took the world number 1 spot in pairs , making the Argentine flag fly again at the top of women's padel after more than a decade.

Finally, that day,  Bela was not “crazy”  : he had simply seen, before anyone else, the champion DNA that lay dormant in Delfi.
