It was with great sadness that we learned, on July 20, of the death of Marina Ponzio. This player (best ranking: 19th French), teacher at TC Gémenos and padel trainer for the Provence league, has left her mark on the world of French padel with her joie de vivre and infectious good humor. Many tributes had been made in his memory, when the news arrived.
A club of six tracks
This club, which Marina initiated with her husband, David D'Antonio and their partner Cédric Latagliata, will open its doors within a few weeks. The club will be called “the P3 by Marina" in his honour. The structure will include 6 outdoor courts, a clubhouse.
There will also be a pro shop on land of more than 14000 m2 in the town of Peypin in the Bouches du Rhône.
“The project of a lifetime”
David, who took over the torch, expressed his feelings about this project: “It is with great pride that we can announce that the club will soon see the light of day. This project, which was the project of a lifetime for us, took a completely different turn... Today, the goal of this club is that Marina remains immortal both for all those who knew her and also so that my daughter Léonie can see over time what a wonderful mother she had and how loved she was by many. We respected all of Marina's wishes in this project and we did our best to ensure that her soul was always with us.. "
He concludes by thanking all the people who have surrounded him in recent months and who helped him make this project possible: “I would like to thank Cédric, my family and my in-laws for their unwavering support in this project and all the trials that I have had to go through during these last months.. "
