While racket sports are all the rage around the world, not all regions have adopted the same format. In Europe and Latin America, padel is very popular, while in North America, particularly in the United States, pickleball is more popular.

Like padel, pickleball is a derivative of tennis, but there are several differences, including the size of the court, the lack of fencing, and the rackets and balls. As of 2023, pickleball was the fastest-growing sport in the United States.

However, the latest report from Playtomic is optimistic for padel fans. Although growth in terms of new court construction has been relatively limited, padel is attracting constant media interest across the Atlantic.

The first New York padel club has thus caught the attention of CBS News, one of the major American media players.
