During a press briefing on padel, the president of the French Tennis Federation,  Gilles Moreton , and the director of padel at the FFT,  Stephanie Cohen-Aloro , presented the main directions for the coming years. The figures and projects announced confirm the increasingly central place that this discipline occupies in the French sporting landscape.

Spectacular growth of padel in France

Padel is experiencing exceptional momentum:

  •  More than 106 padel licensees ,
  •  350 FFT practitioners ,
  •  3 tracks  distributed across the territory,
  •  1 affiliated clubs ,
  •  25 tournaments organized  every year.

These data reflect an unprecedented boom, which places padel among the fastest growing sports in France.

Padel at the heart of the FFT strategy: a priority affirmed for 2025-2029

A mandate focused on supporting clubs

For the period  2025-2029 , the FFT announces a budget of  60 million euros in aid for clubs The objective is clear: to support and accelerate the development of padel throughout the country.

The system is based in particular on:

  • un  interest-free loan  offered to clubs to finance the construction of  projects of 4 or more tracks , with or without cover,
  • a partnership with local authorities in  project management ,
  • the will of accelerate construction in deficient areas ,
  • le  support for padel schools  and the organization of federal competitions.

This is a unique scheme for a sports federation in France, which complements existing aid. For four years, the FFT has already contributed to the implementation of  more than 500 tracks  via its equipment plan.

Structuring high level and daily practice

Beyond infrastructure, the FFT wants to act on several levers:

  •  develop padel schools  to train young people and teachers,
  •  structure and support the high level ,
  • stay one  local federation  by supporting leaders and educators.

Since 2021, several milestones have been reached:

  • the creation of  Paris Major , which has now become  Alpine Paris Major ,
  • the opening of  National Training Center ,
  • the strategy “ Boost Padel "
  • the development of  multi-racket license , promoting bridges between tennis, padel and other disciplines.
