It is amusing to note that, although invented in Mexico in the 70s, the padel has never really taken off there yet. According to the latest report from Playtomic, its development in its country of origin is finally underway.

Mexico now occupies a intermediate position between France and the United Kingdom in terms of popularity and infrastructure. With a population of 127 million, the potential for growth is immense. If the trend continues, the padel could become a large-scale phenomenon in the country.

In 2023, 136 new clubs padel emerged in Mexico, marking a impressive increase of 50,7% compared to the previous year. The cities of Monterrey and Mérida played a key role in this expansion, with 11 and 5 new clubs respectively. At the end of 2023, Mexico thus had 404 clubs padel.

The states of Nuevo León, Mexico and Jalisco are the most active in terms of court reservations. Nuevo León records approximately 20 annual reservations, followed by Mexico City with 16 reservations and Jalisco with 000.
