Padel is about to make its debut in Saumurois. In 2025, a brand new complex of 2 000 m² dedicated to this sport will be built in Saumur, with six courses (5 panoramic courses and 1 single eventually), including one panoramic course, as well as a modern clubhouse: The Team Padel.
A passion that has become a concrete project
John Boero, a former PE teacher, decided to embark on a new adventure after 23 years of teaching. Bitten by padel, he came up with a unique project: Team Padel, the first 100% padel club in the department.
"My dream is coming true," he confides. Located in Champ-Blanchard, the establishment will have modern infrastructures, with a friendly space combining fields, changing rooms, and a clubhouse offering a bar and snacks.
"Team Padel reflects a state of mind. The term “Squadra”, which means “team” in Italian, perfectly illustrates the collective and friendly vision” John Boero explains to us.

Innovative and accessible land
The complex will house six courts, including five standard courts and a single court that is new to the department. The latter promises an immersive playing experience for players of all levels, from leisure to official competition.
John Boero has also thought about the constraints of everyday life by proposing modern solutions: a mobile application to easily book a pitch, as well as a dedicated telephone number. Slots will be available every day, from 9 a.m. to 22:30 p.m. (midnight in summer).
"People will be able to reserve their own land and play. We will try to organize events on site. In addition, with our partner France Padel, we were well driven to complete this project,” says he.
A club focused on training
In addition to the facilities, John Boero aims to become a key player in the development of padel in the region. Certified as a trainer, he plans to offer specialized lessons, suitable for both beginners and experienced players. It also takes the necessary steps to obtain the required diplomas in order to guarantee a quality service.
Padel: a sport for everyone
"It's a sport of the future, conducive to meetings and conviviality", emphasizes John Boero, who hopes to attract both beginners and enthusiasts.
With Squadra Padel, Saumur is preparing to become a new nerve center for this discipline. The project embodies the rise of padel in France and promises to strengthen the sporting attractiveness of the region.
