The professional circuit Premier Padel is considering the establishment of the No-Ad from 2025, i.e. the famous system of gold point, Also known under the name of “Punto de oro” for Spanish speakers. The goal would be to do away with endless benefits and introduce a “golden point” when the score reaches a tie in each game.

Many players are going back on their initial positions on this subject. Paquito Navarro, for example, hopes for the return of the golden point, a system he had already experimented with in the last years of the World Padel TourAt the time, this format was criticized by some players, but today, these same voices seem to support it. Martín Di Nenno et Juan Lebrón have also expressed their support for the implementation of this rule. It is clear that the top names in padel are changing their perspective on this subject. And as is often the case, when the elite speak out, a large part of the other players tend to follow.

At the end of 2023, less than ten votes separated the supporters of the system. No-Ad of those in favor of maintaining traditional advantages. However, in 2024, the camp of No-Ad seems to have gained popularity. It must be said that the many extended matches observed this year, especially on slow tracks such as during the Master Finals, have exhausted the players. The latter would therefore be in favour of any measure allowing shorten the duration of meetings.

Case to follow.
