The latest data published by Playtomic (January – December 2025) confirms a clear trend: British padel has reached a new level. Participation, infrastructure, and player engagement are all progressing simultaneously, a sign that the market is moving beyond the discovery phase and entering a phase of sustained adoption.

A sharp increase in participation

In the space of twelve months, participation in padel in the United Kingdom has more than doubled.

The number of players has increased from  76,695 in January 2025  à  172,564 in December 2025 , or a progression of  + 125% .

Padel is therefore no longer perceived as a mere novelty. The British market now shows indicators of structuring comparable to those of more mature nations.

Infrastructure that keeps pace

Growth is not limited to the number of players. The supply of infrastructure has had to adapt quickly to the demand.

  •  Padel clubs: +123%
  •  Padel courts: +114%

Investments have accelerated to absorb the increase in the number of participants. This dynamic reflects operators' confidence in the market's economic viability.

A practice that has become established over time

One of the most revealing indicators concerns gaming habits.

The number of sessions has increased from  76,695 in January 2025  à  172,564 in December 2025 i.e  + 157%  (multiplied by 2,5).

In other words, players don't just try padel: they come back regularly.

La  average frequency reaches 4 sessions per month per player This significant figure demonstrates a stable level of engagement despite the massive influx of new players. Growth, therefore, does not dilute the intensity of the game.

Padel, a social engine

Another striking statistic: the United Kingdom records  900 Open Matches per month  on the platform.

This represents tens of thousands of organized matches between players who didn't know each other beforehand. Padel is gradually becoming a  vector of social connection , beyond simply practicing sports.

According to the data provided, the United Kingdom is currently positioned as  the most active country in the world in terms of organized social games .

A change of status

British developments are no longer solely based on the novelty effect. Simultaneous progress:

  • the number of players
  • infrastructure
  • the frequency of play
  • and social interactions

depicts a complete ecosystem.

The UK is no longer an “emerging” market. It is now among the most dynamic padel environments, with coordinated growth between players, clubs and consumption habits.

If the trend continues in 2026, the British model could become a benchmark for other expanding markets.
