Le World Padel Tour Could it make its big comeback in 2025? Our Spanish colleagues from Padel Addict seem to be convinced of this. While we thought this circuit was definitely relegated to the past, it would seem that a major surprise either in preparation for next year, with a possible comeback du World Padel Tour.
While this information may seem like an end-of-year joke, former officials of the World Padel Tour would have concluded an agreement with Premier Padel to organize stages, mainly (or exclusively) on Spanish territory. However, the FIP (International Federation of Padel) would not have yet given its consent, an essential validation to integrate these tournaments into the official framework.
The problem is clear: if this new World Padel Tour 2.0 came to award points for the circuit Premier Padel, it could enter into direct competition with the steps of the FIP Tour, organized under the aegis of the FIP. Already faced with criticism linked to too great a dispersion of players over different tournaments, the FIP Tour would be at risk of suffering further if the timetables were to collide. The FIP will therefore have to ensure that it avoids a over-multiplication of tests in the same week, at the risk of seeing stages with low attendance or levels that are too disparate between tournaments of the same category.
According to Padel Addict, it is also possible that Fernando Belasteguín be involved in this new version of the World Padel Tour, which could attract the attention of players and enthusiasts.
Another point to consider is the existence of the circuit A1 Padel, not recognized by the FIP, which continues to develop. A question arises: this new World Padel Tour will it really contribute to improve visibility padel or will it further complicate the competition ecosystem? Many private circuits have already tried to establish themselves in this sector. This return of the World Padel Tour could it have the aim of curb competing initiatives, especially those who do not have the support of Premier Padel ?
This announcement of Padel Addict looks like a real bomb and could mark the beginning of a new saga. See you in 2025 to discover the consequences, if of course the information were to be confirmed!
It's December 28th, the day of the Feast of the Holy Innocents, a very popular and fun celebration of Spanish Christmas. As tradition dictates, jokes are in the spotlight (the equivalent of April Fool's Day in France). Obviously, we found our colleagues' joke very funny and we happily played along.
