Tahitian Léa Godallier, recently bronze medalist at the European Championships Padel, is again FRENCH CHAMPION, with his partner Alix Collombon, for the 4th consecutive year.
A fourth crown won in pain, even if everything had started well for Léa and Alix leading 6/1 – 4/1, suddenly grains of sand then disrupted the machine. Léa twisted her ankle at the start of the match and Alix felt pain in her wrist at 4-2 in the 2nd set.
Despite losing the second round, Léa and Alix, the invincibles, did not give up, mentally but also with anger, strength and their experience on the international circuit, they fought with their weapons of the day to go for a fourth consecutive title of French Champions by winning 6/1 – 4/6 – 6/4.
Lea Godallier: “We went through all the emotions in this match. I thought we might have let our chance slip away when we were leading 6/1 – 4/1. At one point, we said to ourselves, should we think about our international career or should we give our all for this title? But we are both champions, we are too competitive, we held on until the end. We couldn't play at 100%. Our team, our mentality, were stronger than anything today and I am very happy to be French Champion for the 4th consecutive year, and for the first time with my son on the sidelines!”
A year 2024 full of emotions for the Tahitian, Léa Godallier, after having welcomed the most beautiful gift in the world, her son Manoa last January, a return to the circuit Premier Padel with excellent results, followed by a bronze medal in the French Team at the last European Championship in July, here she is again crowned French Champion for the 4th time, with the Paris Major to come Premier Padel at Roland Garros in early October and the World Championships with the French team in Qatar next November. A magical year!
