Sacred to Brussels P2 , Juan Lebrón et Leo Augsburg have marked a turning point in their season. Beyond the title, their appearance at the press conference confirms one thing: this duo has taken a step forward.
Lebrón: “Very happy, very happy, what more can I say?”
Still carried away by emotion, Lebrón did not hide his joy:
“Very happy, very happy, what more can I say?”
A special title for the Spaniard, which he intends to savor:
“Today, tomorrow, and Tuesday if necessary”
A key moment on the bench
One of the highlights of the final was their exchange just before a decisive point.
Lebrón, true to form, recounts with humor:
“I think I kissed her… but you don’t talk about that.”
Then he specifies:
“We were playing very well. I told the team in the first set: we're not playing badly, guys. If we continue like this, we'll have our opportunities.”
A moment that allowed them to relax:
“It allowed us to relax again.”
Augsburger touched: “A lot of things go through your head”
Deeply moved, Leo Augsburg he spoke about his tears after the match:
“A lot of things go through your head. I’m happy with our progress, with doing things right. But being away from family is also a burden.”
A title that has a special value:
“I thought Madrid would remain something isolated. But after this year, with the training sessions with Agustín, with Juanma… a large part of the credit goes to them.”
He emphasizes the importance of his social circle:
“I am surrounded by people with a lot of experience. Juan is a huge example by my side.”
And it clearly displays its ambitions:
“I want to continue with this team, I want to continue winning titles. I know my family will be proud of this victory.”
The turning point after Egypt
The defeat in Egypt marked a turning point:
“It was a very tough defeat. You learn that you can't underestimate anyone. Any pair can beat you.”
With significant mental effort:
“José played a key role. He helped us recharge our batteries to 100%.”

Lebrón is back to his best.
For Lebrón, this title confirms an evolution:
“Since we started playing together, I knew I could get back to that level. Thanks to him, to Agustín, to Juanma…”
A more complete game:
“Beyond being aggressive, today I have a more consistent game. He gave me a lot of confidence. I can play more freely.”
But this requirement remains:
“I always think I can do more. Today I played a great match, but I always want to improve.”
A clear mentality
Augsburger sums up the duo's state of mind:
“I think we never believed we could lose. That’s our mentality. We don’t underestimate anyone, but we never give up.”
And concludes:
“We are players who give our all on every point. That's what defines us.”
A title that changes perception
With this success, Lebrón / Augsburger they don't just win a trophy.
They win by credibility , confidence and above all, in terms of legitimacy compared to the best pairs on the circuit.
Brussels could well be the starting point for a much more ambitious project.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
