At only 21 years,  Leo Augsburg  has experienced a meteoric rise. Freshly crowned champion on the circuit  Premier Padel  In Brussels, the Argentinian made a counter-current choice: to return to play… a local tournament in Posadas, his hometown.

From Brussels to neighborhood padel

The contrast is striking. Just a few days after winning his first title with  Juan Lebrón Augsburger is leaving the spotlight of the international circuit for a regional competition in Argentina.

From May 1st to 3rd, he will be competing alongside his childhood friend Renzo Beccaluva in a local tournament with a prize purse of around 800 euros. A far cry from top-level competition, but full of meaning for the player who came up through the ranks at Posadas.

This isn't the first time, either. In recent months, he had already participated in national tournaments, notably with  Tino Libaak , proof of his commitment to the development of padel in his country.

Leo Augsburger, returning to his roots after the Brussels triumph

A pivotal victory on the circuit

This return to their roots comes after a pivotal moment. In Brussels, Augsburger and Lebrón reached a new milestone by winning their first title together.

Their journey has left a lasting impression: victory against the pair  Alejandro Galán  /  Federico Chingotto  in the semi-final, then victory in the final against  Arturo Coello  et  Agustín Tapia .

A benchmark performance that establishes them as a credible alternative to the two dominant pairs on the circuit.

In the press conference, the Argentinian did not hide the confidence he displayed during the final:
« We never thought we could lose. Off the court, there's friendship, but on the court, that ends. Even after losing the first set, we knew we had what it took. »

Keep your feet on the ground

This detour via Posadas is not insignificant. It reveals something about Augsburger's personality: a player on the rise, but still deeply attached to his roots.

« Being away from family has its difficult sides, but in Spain I found another family " he confided recently.

In an increasingly busy schedule, this return home feels like a breath of fresh air. A way to disconnect from the pressure, to find one's bearings again… and perhaps also to remember where it all began.

A simple, almost intimate interlude, before plunging back into the demands of the very highest level.
