Padel Magazine - After two epic finals, the world numbers have finally won quietly by getting rid of the young guard of the padel world in the final of the WPT of Seville in 3 small sets (6/3 6/3 6/1). Juan Martin Diaz and Fernando Belasteguin routed Maxi Sánchez and Sanyo Gutiérrez who appeared strangely amorphous. The most astonishing was certainly Maxi Sanchez, a formidable striker who will not succeed once in this area against a very tactical pair. Sanyo, the young prodigy, was also not able to replace his teammate in this area when he has all the capabilities.

On the women's side, Icíar Montes and Alejandra Salazar once again showed their enormous mentality at the Sevilla Open by beating the surprising pair Cata Tenorio and Marta Marrero 6-7, 7-6 and 6-2. However, in the first set, the WPT winners took the tie-break 7-0. We thought for a moment that the second set was going to be a formality, but not at all. Montes and Salazar hung on to finally take the second set at the 8-6 tie-brek. The 3rd set was a calm river, as the former world number 1s quickly broke to win 6 games to 2.

See you for the rest of the WPT in Lisbon at the end of September.
