The kick-off of the qualifications of the  Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2  was given this Saturday morning and several French pairs were on display from the first rotations. If the results did not smile on the Tricolores, the experience will have been as intense as it was valuable.

 Gaillard / Couvercelle: a baptism against the elite 

À  10 noon on the center court , the locals, the residents  Cyril Gaillard  et  Louis Couvrecelle , had the honor of opening this 2025 edition. Opposed to the Spanish  Jairo Guerrero Escarcena / Borja Trujillo Chang , they logically bowed  6 / 0 6 / 0  against a pair at a much higher level.

Despite this narrow score, the Bordeaux team knew how to make the most of the moment, offering themselves a match in an exceptional setting and against very seasoned opponents.

 De Meyer / Wagner: a combative duo despite the high step 

At the same time, on court 3,  Dorian DeMeyer  et  Simon Wagner  faced a formidable pair:  Javier Rico / Ignacio Piotto . Despite a defeat  6 / 2 6 / 3 , the French did not disgrace themselves, bothering their opponents in sequences, notably thanks to a  Simon Wagner very inspired .

 Pillon / Grué: the refreshing carefree attitude of a promising duo 

 Lucas Pillon  available in only  17 years  et  Benjamin Grue , opposed to solids  Salvador Oria / Ignacio Vilarino . Defeat  6 / 2 6 / 2 , but again,  the French were not ridiculous .

Better still: the young Pillon shone with his carefree attitude and his quality of hitting, even provoking a  break in the second set A good performance against a duo used to international tournaments.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
