Pillon and Rouanet fall after a huge fight

After a perfectly controlled start with a clear victory  6 / 2 6 / 2  face   Mironski / Grela  ,  Lucas Pillon  et  Nicolas Rouanet  delivered a very strong performance in the round of 16 against the Poles   Olech / Krawczynski  .

The French had, however, made an ideal start to their match by winning the first set.  6/2 , but the home team gradually raised their level to get back into the game.

In an extremely hard-fought match, the two teams were finally separated by a third-set tiebreak, this time going in favor of the Poles. A frustrating defeat.  2/6 6/4 7/6  for the French pair.

On their side,  Arthur Hugounenq  and the former tennis player  Jerzy Janowicz  had made a good start to their tournament with a solid victory against   Wargocki / Konopko   on the score of  6 / 4 6 / 4 .

But in the round of 16, the challenge was greater against the number 2 seed:  Zurita / Belmont Pastor .

The Franco-Polish team put up a good fight and played a solid match, but ultimately lost in two close sets:  7 / 5 6 / 4 .

Buteau also stopped in the eighth

In the ladies,  Laura Buteau , seeded 9th in the tournament along with the Spaniard  Leire Uriarte Medina had made a perfect start with a convincing victory  6 / 3 6 / 1  face   Marta Janowicz / Barbara Machiocha  .

But there too, the journey ended in the round of 16 against   Ieva Ceilutkaite / Aukse Maciulaityte  .

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
