Le  Riyadh P1  approaching and it's an opportunity to look at which players have most often started the season with a victory.  Sanyo Gutiérrez  is leading with  four titles  (2017. 2018. 2019. 2021).  Paquito Navarro  follows closely with  three successes  (2015, 2017, 2020). Behind,  Miguel Lamperti, Maxi Sánchez and Arturo Coello  each won  twice , While  Tapia, Lebrón and Galán  have only entered their name once in the list of winners.

 Can former winners still shine?

Si  Sanyo, Paquito, Lamperti and Maxi Sánchez  marked the previous seasons, the situation is different in  2025 . They almost all start with  new associations , which makes an early victory difficult.

  •  Miguel Lamperti  is a distant outsider. He will be aligned with  Daniel Santigosa , and this pair only comes as  32nd pair .
  •  Sanyo Gutiérrez , he teams up with  javier loyal . Even if Sanyo remains a formidable player, this pair still lacks the benchmarks to go for a title.
  •  Maxi Sánchez , now associated with  Lucas Campagnolo , will have to find some momentum to compete with the best teams.
  •  Paquito Navarro , on the other hand, could have a nice card to play. With  Lucas Bergamini , he starts the tournament like  seeded 7 . It should reach the  quarter-finals , but beyond that, we will have to achieve a big performance.

The last player from the old generation to win a title is  Paquito Navarro , which won during the  Final Master 2023  next to  Federico Chingotto . Since then, no more trophies have been won.

Tapia / Coello, Galán / Chingotto, Lebrón / Stupaczuk: the three big favorites

Ce  Riyadh P1  will also be a first test for the most anticipated teams.

  •  Tapia and Coello  arrive as ultra-favorites after a  exceptional 2024 season , characterized by  14 tracks They remain the men to beat and have shown impressive consistency.
  •  Galan and Chingotto , they come back with  great ambitions . Last year they were one of the few teams to  really pose a problem  to Tapia and Coello. This year, they will clearly want to play the leading role.
  •  Lebron and Stupaczuk  are the great unknown. They have announced their desire to  compete with the best , but this will be their first test together on the official circuit.

 A transition between two generations

Ce  Riyadh P1  marks a turning point. Former winners like  Sanyo, Paquito and Maxi Sánchez  remain big names on the circuit, but they no longer belong to the  world top 4 . Domination is now in the hands of  of the new generation , who seem untouchable. It remains to be seen whether a surprise will come to upset this hierarchy.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
