The official presentation of the Premier Padel Finals took place at Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic Sports Museum in Barcelona. This event, which will bring together the best players in the world, will take place from December 19 to 22 at Palau sant jordi.

The ceremony brought together several personalities from the world of sport and padel, including:

  • Berni Alvarez, Minister of Sports of the Generalitat of Catalonia,
  • David Escude, Sports Advisor to the Barcelona City Council and President of the Barcelona Olímpica Foundation,

  • David Serrahima, Managing Director of Premier Padel,
  • Joan Cusco, President of Octagon Spain,
  • And the “boss” Fernando Belasteguín.

David Escude highlighted Barcelona's love for sport: “Barcelona is a city that lives sport to the fullest, and padel is no exception”.

Luigi Carraro added : “We played in the biggest cities, but Barcelona was missing. And it is no coincidence that we end here with the most important tournament. Today, padel is played in more than 150 countries by 30 million players.”

During the second panel, Ramón Morcillo highlighted the vitality of padel in Spain: “In 2024, Spanish padel is doing wonderfully”.

While Premier Padel is coming to an end, Fernando Belasteguín shared his thoughts: “This year has been the best for professional padel. If we continue to move forward together, it will have a positive impact on federations and countries.”

David Serrahima, Managing Director of Premier Padel, also praised this season: “2024 has been a year of transformation for Premier Padel, consolidating its position as a global leader through new territories, strategic partnerships and unforgettable events.”

Fernando Belasteguín's farewell to Barcelona

Bela announced that he will participate in a tribute match on December 21, even if he does not qualify for The Finals. This exhibition match will celebrate his 30 years of career, marked in particular by 16 years as world number one. Among the participants will be his greatest rivals and teammates, such as Juan Martín Díaz, Seba Nerone, Juani Mieres, Gaby Reca, Pablo Lima, as well as celebrities like Gianluca Vacchi et Carles Puyol.
