Following the Valladolid P2, many will probably have noticed the speed of the track, with smashes that come out of the windows a lot. An obvious advantage for the “gunners" as Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Ale Galan and many others.

To support these remarks, Padel has once again worked miracles by offering their analysis. 21 matches were able to be analyzed and the observation is always the same: the smashers are in the spotlight!

The efficiency (number of winners / number of smashes) with smashes was 61,1% salary. 56,0% in all other tournaments! This increase is visible on the track with a lot of auction during the meetings… even among women! We are thinking in particular of the magnificent Par 3 of Carmen Goenaga who had both feet on the line.

Other interesting information: the number of lobs. Indeed, if we know that the track is fast and that the Par 3s will be easier to achieve, we avoid going through the air. This is why, in Valladolid, lobs only represent 14% of all blows (against 23% usually) !

These playing conditions are a huge change from those in Rotterdam last week. This is a real advantage for overpowered players… like Valladolid native Arturo Coello!

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
