Wild cards for the CUPRA FIP Finals Grand Bourg are now known, both among men and women, with a few surprises.

Men's Wild Cards

In the men's category, the wild cards were awarded to two French pairs:

  • Johan Bergeron / Bastien Blanque
  • Timéo Fonteny / Yoan Boronad

The choice of Fonteny / Boronad may be surprising, particularly due to the absence of former members of the French team, Adrien Maigret / Jérôme Inzerillo, yet well placed to claim this Wild card. However, this choice is part of the FFT's policy, which clearly focuses on youth and the development of new generations.

Women's Wild Cards

On the women's side, wild cards were awarded to:

  • Carla Touly / Jessica Ginier
  • Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Camille Sireix

Another notable choice is the absence of the pair Soubrié / Pothier, who seemed better placed given their ranking.

Bergeron / Blanque and Touly / Ginier: on the waiting list

Note that Bergeron / Blanque et Touly / Ginier are the first teams on the waiting list. In the event of a withdrawal of a pair already entered, other French teams could therefore be selected for the wild cards.

It should also be noted that several French players are directly qualified for the competition. Among the men, Thomas Leygue will play alongside Dylan Guichard, while in women, Alix Collombon will be associated with the Spanish Araceli Martinez, and Léa Godallier will evolve with the Italian Giorgia Marchetti.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
