In a survey conducted on our Instagram, a large majority (86%) of participants believe that the pair Libaak / Tello will not have as bright a future as that of Tapia / Coello, the pair that dominated the circuit in 2024. Only 14% of those surveyed believe in a similar destiny for the two Argentines.

An observation based on rankings and competition

The comparison between the two pairs is explained in particular by the differences in ranking and status before their association. When Wall et Coello decided to unite, they were already part of the world elite, close to the top of the rankings. Conversely, Juan Tello et Tino Libaak currently occupy the 20e et 36e world places respectively, far from the level their counterparts had when they united.

In addition, the competition for the 2025 season promises to be tough. Between the current number 1s, Tapia / Coello, and pairs like Galan / Chingotto ou Stupaczuk / Lebron, it seems complicated to see Libaak / Tello compete with them throughout the season. Especially since each, for their part, has not managed to impose themselves against these players in 2024.

A promising pair despite everything

Despite this skepticism, Libaak and Tello do not lack potential. Tino Libaak, young and talented, represents the new generation of players who bring a dynamic and aggressive style. Juan Tello, more experienced, could stabilize the pair thanks to his experience and power. In addition, he has already proven previously that he can compete with the best, especially alongside Chingotto.

2025 will therefore be a pivotal year for this pair who, although promising, will still have to convince that they can claim the top of world padel.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
