Lilian Fouré, 39th French player, nicknamed the “gunner of the north”, finally wins a P1000 in the south of France alongside his partner Florian Hue (48th). After several bitter defeats, the Northerner finally savors a victory in P1000, the fifth of his career and the second with Florian, after their success at the P1000 in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
A highly anticipated success!
“There were a few tournaments where we went all the way to the third set against the top pairs, but ended up losing every time. With Flo, we felt a certain frustration. We also suffered this defeat during the qualifications of the French Championships against our friends Étienne Brouillard and Eliot Deknuyt, which was not easy. We will obviously be fully behind them next September for the final stages in Strasbourg.
We were often on the verge of performance, but this time, in Sète Padel Club, we finally remained solid from start to finish. It’s really good for morale.
Especially outdoors, for a child from the North of Hauts-de-France like me, who is not used to playing outside with the wind and the sun, elements that we do not know because we play indoors all year round .
I'm even starting to surprise myself outside! I will end by saying that I love playing outside! " (laugh)
2025 will be a different year
“This year is important for me, because it prepares me for 2025. Next year, I will take things much more seriously with the implementation of individual and collective training, with more physical preparation to try to perform on the French circuit and, if the opportunity arises, on the international circuit by participating in stages of the FIP Tour. Yohan Romanowski will take care of me in Valenciennes.
I will obviously continue to play with Florian when the opportunity arises. Otherwise, I will play with other partners. With Flo, I feel really safe. I know he's a machine on the right and he's very physical. He always surprises me.
I hope to be able to continue this good dynamic in Palavas during the next P1000 with Flo. »
For her next season, Lilian Fouré is also open to any collaboration proposal and can be contacted directly via his Instagram page.
