Known as the director of World Padel Tour (WPT) in Latin America and promoter of Buenos Aires Padel Master, Lisandro Borges recently created controversy on his Instagram page by commenting on the end of the career of the legend of padel world, Fernando Belasteguín.
“What player is crazy enough to play alongside a grandfather?”
“You have the retirement you deserve, losing in the first round of every tournament you play!
You lost in the first round of 6 tournaments and yesterday you also got eliminated from Finland.
Not to mention the FIP that you were forced to play last week where you also lost in the first round.
What a punishment, right? Justice is served!
I wonder what player could be crazy enough to want to play alongside a grandfather without physicality or hitting?
Bela, don’t make any more scenes… don’t walk away giving a pitiful image… you are tarnishing your career.”
Reactions and support for Bela
Many of Bela's supporters came to his defense, including Padel Review, which published the following response:
“Who is Lisandro Borges to talk like this about a LEGEND like Bela?
He had the audacity to write this on his personal Instagram account:
"I wonder what player could be crazy enough to want to play alongside a grandfather without physicality or shots".
What nonsense, Lisandro, this hatred that you display does not build anything and does not help the sport that we love. All our support to Belasteguín, as we have already said, an absolute legend of the padel and one of the main people responsible for the position of padel Today."¿Who is Lisandro Borges to have as if a LEYENDA like Bela?

This is how good it is to write on your personal account on Instagram:
“I recommend that a judge can be at the same time to ask for the right to be played by an abuelo without physics or problems”.
Que barbaridad Lisandro, ese… pic.twitter.com/hzqTcnqtJA
And now ?
The question remains: will the matter remain there between Borges and Bela? Perhaps the answer lies very simply on the ground. See you for the second part of the season with, we hope, a Bela who will be able to bounce back to finish his last season on the professional circuit.
