The second day of  Premier Padel Community of Madrid P1  delivered its share of confirmations among the seeded players, but also a match that felt like a reunion for the faithful of the A1 circuit Padel.

Arce versus Tolito: a symbolic clash

In what was arguably the most anticipated poster of the day,  Maxi Maple  first crossed paths on Premier Padel the road of his former rival and accomplice of the A1,  Adrián “Tolito” Aguirre , associated to  Alex Chozas .
The confrontation lived up to all expectations: more than two hours of play, spectacular rallies and constant suspense. After losing the first set in a tie-break, Arce and  Pablo Lijó , from the qualifications, managed to reverse the trend to win 6/7 6/4 7/5. A victory that has a special flavor: it marks Arce's entry into the big circuit at the expense of another former leader of the A1.

Favorites at the rendezvous

Although this duel focused attention, the main seeds did not tremble.  Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia , defending champions and world No. 1, started their tournament with a solid success against  Gala-Campagnolo  (6/3 7/6).  Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto  (TS2) also assured, just like  Lebrón/Stupaczuk  (TS3) and  Nieto/Yanguas  (TS4).

Behind them,  Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini  (TS5),  Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz  (TS6), as well as  Di Nenno/Augsburger  (TS7) have all validated their ticket for the last XNUMX. Only the pair  Cardona/Tello  (TS8) had to work hard, overturning  Without/Quilez  in three sets after losing the first set.

On the ladies side

The women's draw continues to take shape as we await the entry of the top four pairs on Thursday. In the meantime,  Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo  (TS5) dominated their match (6/1 6/1), while  Alejandra Salazar and Martina Calvo  (TS8) had  Léa Godallier and Carmen Carnicero  (6/3, 6/2). Several outsiders like  Guinart/Iglesias  or,  Borrero/Pérez  also qualified.

The only notable surprise: the premature elimination of  Virseda/Osoro  (TS7), beaten the day before by  Orsi/Fassio .

Tomorrow, it is also the Franco-Spanish Araceli / Collombon who will enter the arena.
