Madrid P1 – Triay and Brea mercilessly against Ustero and Araújo

Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea did not tremble in the semi-final of Madrid P1. Opposed to Andrea Ustero and Sofía Araújo (TS4) , the world number 1s played a very serious match to win 6 / 2 6 / 4 .

A great start from Delfi

Contrary to his habits, Delfi Brea got into her match very quickly. From the first exchanges, her backhand hurt, and each time the number 1 pair returned to the net, the punishment was immediate. The result: a perfectly controlled first set, concluded 6/2.

Gemma Triay takes over

In the second set, the break is made at 2/1. Triay, full of confidence , raised her game with smashes as the match progressed. In conditions that favored her game, she was simply ruthless. Despite a small slump with a break conceded, the number 1s remained solid on their serve to finish 6/4.

Calm and diligent No. 1s

In front of them, Ustero and Araújo haven't found the key. The pre-match stats didn't lie: neither has ever beaten Delfi Brea (10-0 against Ustero, 16-0 against Araújo). Already dominated in their only meeting in Asunción (6/2 6/1), they haven't managed to reverse the trend.

Triay and Brea thus display their 10th season finale (6 titles already won in 2025). With the early elimination of Josemaría and Sánchez, a new title in Madrid would allow them to further widen the gap at the top of the world rankings .
