Great performance at the  FIP Platinum Lyon  ! This Tuesday morning,  Adrien Maigret  et  Olivier Guy de Chamisso  realized  the big performance of the day  eliminating the  seeded 1  qualifications,  Lorenzo Di Giovanni / Santino Giuliani , on the undisputed score of  6 / 3 6 / 1 .

A resounding victory, acquired with authority, in a match totally controlled by the French pair.

Maigret brilliantly finds his left side

After playing on the right during the Senior+ European Championships,  Adrien Maigret  made a remarkable return to the left:

“After an early break, we came back pretty quickly, we pulled away and we won quite easily. I'm very happy with this match, because I also played on the right in the Senior+ European Championship. Getting my left side back is something. The fact of having played the whole competition, having a great week, a very good time, having good results, it gave me a lot of confidence. I want to start a project with a young player to whom I can share my experience.”

Supported by the left-hander  Olivier Guy de Chamisso  Very aggressive and inspired on the fly, Maigret shone. Opposite, the Italians  Di Giovanni and Giuliani  made a number of direct errors, unable to contain the French.

Thanks to this success,  Maigret / Guy de Chamisso  qualify for the  final round of qualifying , where they will face  Arthur Hugounenq / Juan José Domínguez (TS7) , the latter have imposed themselves  7/6 4/6 6/1  salary.  Rayane Akram Hamou / Marco Antonio Quereda Moreno . after a great battle, thus guaranteeing  at least one French pair  in the main draw of the tournament. The duel will take place  not before 14pm on court 4 .

For their part, the young people  Johan Peloux  et  Quentin Bernard , French U16 champions and beneficiaries of a wildcard, delivered a  very big match  facing the 8th seed  Juan Ignacio Balzola Galvani / Francisco De Paula Núñez Gómez , before bowing  7 / 6 6 / 4 .
Despite the defeat, the performance of the two young French players, in a match of  international level , suggests good things and positive things are to be remembered.

Women's side: Messina and Pellegrinelli pass without playing

For the ladies, the pair  Chiara Messina / Elsa Pellegrinelli  (wildcard) qualified following the pre-match withdrawal of  Dellagnese / Ronchini .
They will face the third seed in the next round,  Steffi Merah / Marie-Amélie Dardaine , for a place in the  main board .
Good news :  at least one French pair  will therefore be assured of appearing in the  women's final table .
