It was one of the attractions of the P1 in Malaga two weeks ago, Maximiliano Arce, one of the best players on the A1 circuit, made his debut on the circuit. Premier Padel with Stupa. This week in Tarragona, he is back alongside Mario Huete.

Out of qualifying

Mario Huete doesn't have the same ranking as Stupa... So for this tournament the two men had to go through the qualifications to reach the main draw. A first round won easily 6/0 6/1 then a very close match against Axelsson/Ramirez from which they got out in 3 sets: 3/6 6/4 6/4

First round in pain

For their entry into the main draw, Huete/Arce benefited from a favorable draw, playing against qualifiers, but this match did not prove easy. Against Manuel Castano and Juan Ignacio De Pascual, the latter also a player of the A1 Padel, the two pairs delivered a real war on the track with a match in 3 sets once again. This 2h13 marathon was finally won by Maxi Arce and Mario Huete: 7/6 4/6 7/5

First real test against Jofre/Arroyo

This afternoon, things really get serious for the Spanish-Argentine pair, they will face the tournament's 10th seed: Inigo Jofre and Alex Arroyo

A pair on a completely different level compared to what they faced in qualifying and their first round of the draw. It's therefore a big challenge that awaits the two men, Maxi Arce could well show the world again that he can claim to settle permanently on the circuit. Premier Padel perhaps alongside Mario Huete. But surely other higher-ranked players will seek him out given the level displayed by the Argentinian.

A place in the last 8 is at stake today, the winners of this match will go on to challenge the world number 1s: Coello/Tapia
